JASON JOYNER
President
Jason’s interest in politics began in Mrs. Pindell’s 3rd-grade class when a mock presidential debate was held. He would be excited to have an extra hour during a rainy indoor recess to represent the Bob Dole/Jack Kemp presidential banner to his fellow 9-year olds. As Jason tells the story, he made history as he picked up 92% of the popular vote in his class, proudly securing the White House for the Republican Party, although Senator Dole would not hold on in the actual election weeks later, a reality that still bothers Jason to this day.
Over twenty years later, Jason remains as passionate about politics as the 9-year old standing in for the oldest nominee in Presidential politics. Jason graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in political science, with a focus in public administration and municipal management.
In 2013 Jason began an unpaid role with New Frame, a firm he would later be named as a partner of. Jason was named a partner with New Frame Inc. in 2016, after being recognized for his client development and working as the firm’s lead lobbyist to N.C. General Assembly.
Jason is the lead lobbyist for J.W. Joyner Government Affairs. His strategy consists of providing clients and lawmakers with honest, clear communication about his clients and their impact in North Carolina. He has a proven track record of working with legislators from both parties to achieve the needs of his clients and improving the State of N.C.
Jason has served the Town of Wendell as a Town Commissioner since 2015 and was the youngest Commissioner in Wendell’s history. He brings an understanding of local government, data, budgets, and communication strategies that campaigns and advocacy groups must have in this political environment. Jason’s role as an elected official has allowed him to champion ideas related to regulatory reform, children’s safety, and education locally, giving him a unique perspective when talking with lawmakers.
When he’s not reading budget spreadsheets or campaign finance reports, Jason can be found riding around Wendell on his golf cart or on his front porch with his wife Meghan, their daughter Emerson Kate, and their dog Paisley.
Meghan
VP of Everything
Meghan grew up in Asheboro, NC (home of the NC Zoo). Her interest in politics began in the 5th Grade when she won an election for school Treasurer using the slogan “Awesome Baby” after her family met Dick Vitale the summer before in Sarasota, FL. She remembers growing up listening to her Grammy talk passionately about politics and science. Meghan listened but found her heart led her to work with children. She went on to attend Appalachian State University, graduating at the top of her class with an Elementary Education degree.
Graduating during the recession in 2010 proved to find a job difficult but Meghan was hired as a 3rd Grade teacher in Knightdale, NC where she remained for a decade. Her time as a teacher taught her many lessons of perseverance, communication, outreach, and collaboration that will stay with her forever but her heart began to pull her in a different direction.
Meghan is excited for her new role at J.W. Joyner Government Affairs as VP of Everything. She will handle scheduling, billing, and social media while also being a full-time Mom to her daughter with Jason, Emerson Kate.
In her free time, Meghan enjoys cooking, gardening, creating, and spending time outside with her husband Jason, daughter “EK”, and dog Paisley.
